This image is an extremely summery one. A working boat, which is used by the local fishermen to fish for oysters under sail, is about to leave the village of Helford on a high tide to sail out to Carrick Roads and beyond. The trees are in full leaf with the evergreen pines towering in the background.
The well known “Boathouse” is on the right, as we look out to the sailing waters ahead, with two colourful boats moored at its opening, and the roofs and upper windows of some of the Cornish cottages showing above.
Helford Village looks at its best with a full tide and when painted by Ted on such a glorious sunny day what could be better.
